We are a small rabbitry located in Central Pennsylvania, about a half hour from State College. At Oak Ridge Rabbitry, our goal is to produce quality Holland Lop rabbits, for show and pet.
I started out with several pet rabbits, and quickly got involved in our local 4-H rabbit club. As the years went on and I learned more about rabbits, I decided that I wanted to get more involved in the show world. Needless to say, the gentle, loving personality of the Holland Lop breed easily won me over.
Today, Oak Ridge Rabbitry consists of a small herd of breeding and show rabbits. I generally keep around 6-10 rabbits at a time, which my family helps me care for while I'm away at college most of the year. This small number allows us to give our rabbits the personal care and attention that they need. We enjoy spending individual time with all of our young rabbits, ensuring that they leave our rabbitry with friendly personalities, whether they will be used for show or just as a family pet.
Although I do enjoy working with my rabbits especially, my primary goal is to help educate others about the proper care of rabbits of all kinds! I usually spend several nights sitting at our 4-H fair talking to visiting families, and you'll also find me on Yahoo! answers. So, please feel free to e-mail me with any rabbit related questions and concers, or just to chat about bunnies, I love "talking rabbit"!
Oak Ridge Rabbitry has launched a new rabbit care website dedicated not only to pet owners, but also breeders, showers, and rescuers. Feel free to check it out! The Rabbit Connection
